Bloggers United to Fight Virginity Test

This is a good news. Bloggers and activists are united to fight virginity test.

Activists and bloggers are pressing Egypt’s military rulers to investigate accusations of serious abuses against protesters, including claims that soldiers subjected female detainees to so-called "virginity tests".

Will this condition lead to another spring protest?

Virginity test that intended to women protesters in Egypt is a Human right Abuse. This is the reason:

Back in March, Amnesty International began reporting that the Egyptian military had subjected 17 women protesters at a Tahrir Square demonstration to "virginity tests." The women told Amnesty that they had been handcuffed and beaten, stripped searched and photographed by male soldiers, then restrained by female soldiers while a man in a white coat performed a virginity check.

Egyptian Virginity Checks is sound like in Indonesian traditional policy. Few months ago, there were also Virginity Checks on Indonesian women as a requirement for school submission. Indonesia modern society consider it as traditional policy that alienated from current norms. It it believed as a policy that came through traditional thinking of several unskilled Indonesian politician. Recently, Virginity Checks also performed for Egyptian protesters. A senior Egyptian general admits the policy.

A senior Egyptian general admits that "virginity checks" were performed on women arrested at a demonstration this spring, the first such admission after previous denials by military authorities.

The allegations arose in an Amnesty International report, published weeks after the March 9 protest. It claimed female demonstrators were beaten, given electric shocks, strip-searched, threatened with prostitution charges and forced to submit to virginity checks.
