Pakistan Arrests CIA informants

leave a comment »

I this is a new development on Pakistan and US bilateral relation. Pakistan’s detention of five C.I.A informants just a new fact that indicate a bad relation of both countries. New York Times said that:

Pakistan’s detention of five C.I.A. informants, including a Pakistani Army major who officials said copied the license plates of cars visiting Bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in the weeks before the raid, is the latest evidence of the fractured relationship between the United States and Pakistan. It comes at a time when the Obama administration is seeking Pakistan’s support in brokering an endgame in the war in neighboring Afghanistan.

Osama is US’ “Big Chunk”

leave a comment »

Today I read blog post on politicalpunch about Obama’s announcement for US troops withdrawal.

President Obama said today that the U.S. has accomplished a “big chunk” of its mission in Afghanistan and that he will be making an announcement about the size of the troop withdrawal from the war-torn country “soon.”

According to the announcement, the key of the withdrawal is the “big chunk”. It is funny that Obama call Osama as US “big chunk”

Ilyas Kashmiri, The Next Al Qaeda leader Killed

leave a comment »

Ilyas Kashmiri, a top Al Qaeda commander and the next promising Osama’s successor was killed.

A top al-Qaida commander and possible replacement for Osama bin Laden was killed in an American drone-fired missile strike close to the Afghan border, a fax from the militant group he heads and a Pakistani intelligence official said today.

I believe that Kashmiri’s death is not a serious problem for Al Qaeda. For years, Al Qaeda has built their secret network and strategy. Therefore, Al Qaeda have a wide range of option to fill Kashmiri’s previous position. Al Qaeda’s strength for this situation is tested through years of battle with various Western imperialist such as England and United States.
