Guardian, make a coverage about Indonesia’s tweeps. And there will be more coverage about Indonesia’s tweeps by local and international media. few weeks ago, cnn just make a coverage titled “Indonesia: twitter nation”. cnn cited story of our hypocrite minister.

For example, when America’s First Lady Michelle Obama shook hands with Indonesia’s conservative Muslim information minister whose beliefs forbid him touching women who are not relatives, it was one of Twitter’s trending topics and created a punch line for comedian Stephen Colbert thousands of miles away on U.S. television.

guardian also cite another trending topics from Indonesia.

A lot can be done in 140 characters. Earlier this year, when Indonesian minister Salim Segaf Al-Jufrie was spotted driving in a bus lane in Jakarta, he was photographed by an angry, and likely traffic-bound, resident. The picture was posted on Twitter, instantly attracting thousands of comments, many calling for his resignation. But the minister responded quickly. "Thanks for all the response and input on today’s incident," he tweeted. "It’s a valuable lesson for me and my staff." The next day, he reported his own law-breaking to police and was fined 500,000 Rupiah (£35).

this months, Timnas Indonesia, Christian Gonzales, and Irfan Bachdim occasionally promoted on the trending topics. today, Timnas Indonesia and Christian Gonzales are on the top twitter’s trending topics. it just indicate how big is Indonesia’ tweeps. and, its true, Indonesia is now a twitter nation.
