It is officially will be a crisis when North Koreans sank Cheonan, a South Koreans warship on March 26 that killed 46 Southern sailors onboard. The tragedy is a watershed that awakens the great powers. The North Korea actually wanted to say, “Your money (aid) can’t buy me”

According to Slate, it is a general pattern of confrontation between South and North Korea. The North Korean vessel crosses the borderline, and the South will warn the North by radio. In most cases, the North always denies the complaint. Then, conflict escalation, will be the consequences.

In the Cheonan case, it is a bit different. The North’s submarine suddenly sank the South’s vessel by a torpedo without warning. Some analysts believe that it is Kim Jong Il who planned the tragedy. According to Slate, it is the Kim Jong Il’s strategy to show force. But for what purpose ?
