127 Radical Boarding School in Indonesia

leave a comment »

Some source said that there are at least 127 radical boarding school in Indonesia. Those radical boarding school are formerly Jamaah Islamiah (JI) network. Even though JI is currently doesn’t exist, the spirit of Jihad is still well-maintained. The last blast in one of the radical boarding school in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara is one evidence. At least, there is evidence that they are learning how to make a bomb. I believe that 127 radical school boarding is dangerous enough. At least, there are 127.000 potential radical students if every radical boarding school have at least 100 students. Let say, there are 10 percent of the student that will be terrorist. It means, there will be 12.700 potential radical student that suspiciously dangerous. Therefore, I think Indonesian government have to take actions for real. This is not only a threat for Indonesian only, but also for regional security. Just imagine that 12.700 potential radical student are freely move and travel in the Southeast Asia. It means, it it also a serious regional threat.

Mumbai Blast

leave a comment »

After silent for a while, Mumbai woke up again. This is the biggest attack after the last Mumbai attact. 21 people killed and 100 wounded. This is just a confirmation that terrorists still free and ready to take their operation in India.

Mumbai (Bombay) and other Indian cities have woken up to a state of high alert after three blasts shook the commercial capital, killing 21 and hurting dozens.

I just wonder, how strong is the terrorist group in South Asia. They never give up even in a post-osama realm.

Pakistan Arrests CIA informants

leave a comment »

I this is a new development on Pakistan and US bilateral relation. Pakistan’s detention of five C.I.A informants just a new fact that indicate a bad relation of both countries. New York Times said that:

Pakistan’s detention of five C.I.A. informants, including a Pakistani Army major who officials said copied the license plates of cars visiting Bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in the weeks before the raid, is the latest evidence of the fractured relationship between the United States and Pakistan. It comes at a time when the Obama administration is seeking Pakistan’s support in brokering an endgame in the war in neighboring Afghanistan.

There are many ways to create terror. Everybody could also become terrorist by using their own skill. We have a funny example in Indonesia that practiced by Sumardy Ma, a coffin marketer. He created his terror by sending his coffin to some mass media. The effect is remarkable. His coffin suddenly become popular. His authorized twitter account suddenly got thousands of follower. But unfortunately, Sumardy Ma arrested by police for investigation.

Anwar al-Awlaki, Potential But Not Dangerous

with one comment

Anwar al-Awlaki is the Osama’s successor. But some analyst said that he is not too dangerous.

But some analysts say that while Mr. Awlaki’s propaganda skills are undimmed, there is little evidence that he wields significant influence in Al Qaeda’s leadership, and has limited power even on the Arabian peninsula.

There is a good growing debate about al-Awlaki here.

US operation few weeks ago succeed to kill Osama. But Al Qaeda has many option for the successor. Several US terrorism expert said that there are evidence Anwar al-Awlaki is the next Osama.

There is evidence that Anwar al-Awlaki, the American-born Muslim cleric in Yemen who has been linked to the Fort Hood, Texas, massacre and other plots in the U.S., is angling to succeed Osama bin Laden by inspiring more terrorist attacks against the U.S., Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said on Friday.

al-Awlaki was linked to the Fort Hood massacre. It means, that he has a reputation. He has potential, resources and skills to continue Osama’s ambition.
